sequel (n): a piece of work that is complete in and of itself but continues the narrative of a preceding work
The places we value the most are the ones where we understand the story and context, places where memories are made. In this way, each project is a “sequel” of sorts, one more chapter in our narrative that builds connection and community.
Every building, every project, and every client have a unique story to tell. We just happen to tell stories in architecture instead of prose.
The Sequel Origin Story
Sequel Architecture + Interiors launched in mid-2020 (yes, if you’re doing the math, right at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic). Turns out it was the perfect timing to be doing something different than the “big guys”. Everyone was trapped inside, living… and working… in their homes most of every day, and we saw a real opportunity to help people make GOOD DECISIONS about how they want their homes to work for them.
We quickly realized that our unique combination of construction expertise, design sense, and client-centered process translates well across the board. We now help people navigate confidently through the design and construction process on a broad range of project types including: homes, historic rehabilitations, restaurants, office finish, retail, community planning, religious, new construction, and entertainment… plus the occasional super-unique project that nobody else has the ability to take on.
Layered on top of this is a 25-year love of historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse. In various capacities, we have lead design, approvals, and historic tax credit work on more than 300 buildings!
Today, Sequel Architecture + Interiors “lives” in a locally landmarked building that we renovated ourselves. Our team of five completes architecture and interior design work on projects totaling more than $5 million
each year!
